They tell you do the baking soda thing, doesn’t work still, they say do baking soda again and again and again. Circles.
- - Replacement is offered only for cracks; non-stick is not covered by the warranty, and the user is unhappy with scan pan.
I asked if after 10 or more baking soda attempts and my pan still sticks with food, will you send replacement. Answer was NO.
Only send replacement of pan cracks for breaks. The non stick is NOT part of the guarantee or warranty. I would never have bought this expensive pan knowing this. deceptive advertising.
They tout how non stick these pans are. Sadly I find out that is not the case.
Unhappy customer. Never will buy a scan pan again.
User's recommendation: Don’t buy.

Verified BuyerNot happy with the product

Very upset
I just purchased a 9 piece cookware set. I bought it because I was told that it is durable.

Verified ReviewerFailed product. Scanpan roaster, peeling coating.
- - Old roaster kept well.
- - Coating is lifting and entering food; some was ingested by a four-year-old.
Okay it's an old roaster but always looked after. If the coating had failed due to wear that would be accepted but!, the coating has begun to lift off and get into our food.
Is the coating harmful to children?
We need to know this as some of it was injested by a four-year-oldd. Can provide photo if required.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
User's recommendation: beware claims as to the efficacy of the coating.
Warranty department doesn’t respond
- - Cannot reach Scanpan customer support for a month across USA/International/Facebook/emails; non-stick surfaces are wearing and I need replacement.
I am trying to reach Scanpan customer support for a month now - USA/International/Facebook/emails with absolutely zero response. Non stick surface is wearing off on some of the Scanpan items that I have and I need replacement.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
User's recommendation: Don’t buy - no customer support
Claim that Covid 19 is responsible for email-only contact, however, my RMA request is over two weeks old and no response and no other way to inquire and escalate
- - RMA response slow for over two weeks.
- - Returned CTX pans 2-3 times in 12 years; can't reach live support to check status.
Poor/no responsiveness to RMA request over two weeks old. I've returned defective CTX pans 2-3 times over the last 12 years with little effort other than packing and shipping cost. Now unable to contact anyone live to inquire status and escalate.
- Lifetime defect warranty
- No support response for rma request from two weeks ago
- Too expensive if cannot rely on great support
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered
User's recommendation: Cookware is great for induction tops, but, if Support sucks like it seems now, not worth the upfront cost and headache when needing replacement. Buy tri-clad stainless and use a little cooking oil instead!
Scan pan is scam pan
- - Two Scanpan pans bought; the smaller pan looks fine, the larger is defective.
- - Warranty cites oil residue and asks for cleaning steps.
I bought 2 pans at the same time, one small one larger. Used them both equally, followed all instructions for cleaning, use, etc Larger pan, surface looks bad.
Called scanpan, sent me an email with tiny photos of what is covered under warranty. My pan looked like the "blistered" picture. They said it was oil residue on the pan. Was then told to send picture of my pan, told the same story as most others - wash with baking soda & water - boil 2 times and also clean with Barkeepers Friend.
I did this - no change. They asked to see more pictures, which I sent and they again said it was oil on the pan and keep cleaning it. Never responded as to why the smaller pan looked great, like new while the larger pan is clearly defective at this point. Clearly they have no intention of honoring the warranty.
I could clean and send pictures for a life time and these people will not respond with honor. I see I am just one of many who has had this experience. Wondering how many others have experienced this. Scanpan should remove the lifetime warranty from the product if they do not intend to honor it.
These pans are super expensive, surely the company is doing well enough to step up and stand behind their product.
I am amazed at how many others have experienced this with Scanpan. I emailed Williams Sonoma where I purchased these pans, told them what happened and suggested they no longer sell this product as it is a bad reflection on their company.
Preferred solution: replace my pan with a new one same size/style and honor warranty and company pay any required shipping charges,
This pan sti(n)cks
- - Warranty covers construction/defects only, not non-stick; after about two years food sticks, builds up, and baking-soda doesn't restore non-stick.
After posting on this site, I got a quick email from the company. They asked for me to send photos of the pans.
They then let me know that the lifetime warranty was NOT meant to cover the non-stick nature of the pans. Huh? But they agreed to replace mine.
Just sent them back - hope to get the replacements in a few weeks. See photos.
The pans work amazing well - until they don’t. Over time - about 2 years - no matter how well you clean the pan, small bits of food actually do stick and accumulate, then build up. This reduces the non-stick of the pan to the point of it no longer being a non-stick pan. The warranty only covers the overall construction, and defects.
The company suggests boiling water in the pan with baking soda - which doesn’t really help. Now, even with oil in the pan, everything sticks and there’s absolutely no “non-stick” feature left to the product.
- Warranty does not cover non-stick feature
Preferred solution: Full refund
Rip off. Much better options for less money
They do not back the warranty at all. They give you the run around and then just ignore you. They are a horrible company with garbage product.
Lost of nonstick feature
- - Bought a Scanpan Classic 36cm Wok in 2018 at a high price.
- - It started sticking within a year despite care, and Denmark blamed overheated oil.
I have been trusted Scanpan as a Denmark original product and spent several times of money than a normal nonstick pan for a Scanpan classic 36cm Wok on 13 June 2018. I have been taking good care of it in use but it still started to stick in less than a year which is absolutely no different from a cheap cheap China pan.
When I contacted their branch office in Singapore with pictures, it was very frustrated that their Denmark office was trying to argue that it was due to overheated oil and no blame on their product. I dislike this kind of endless argument.
Should I trust a Danish product in future? Is it worth that much or it should be priced same as a China product?
- 10 years warranty
- Nonstick
- Danish product
- Dificult to claim on warranty
- Arguing on product warranty issue
Preferred solution: Replacement
Lids is rusting
The outside of my scanpan lid is rusting, otherwise I am pleased
with this product.
Preferred solution: Full refund
Warranty was honor
- - Contacted Scanpan about nonstick loss and safety; sent photos and video; paid to ship for inspection.
- - After ~4 years, warranty replaces the pans.
I had contact the scan pan customer service regarding the nonstick surface loss and my concern about the finished health safety .
I had send the pictures and video. I had used them for about 4 years .
My other brand stainless pans are in great condition after 32 years.
I had pay for sending them back to the wearhouse for inspection and I just got notice back that they will replace them and honor their warranty. I’m mad that the pans lost their nonstick abilities but I’m happy that the company had resolution .
Same sad story, with a twist
- - Cleaning instructions failed to resolve the issue.
- - Photos suggested carbonized food; BKF was recommended.
- - Scan Pan replacement was approved.
I got the same cleaning instructions which didn't work. I then sent pictures to which they replied that it showed there was carbonized food that was the problem. They suggested Barkeepers Friend, cleaning powder.
I have used that product for years to keep my All Clad pans looking new. It is formulated to remove carbonized food. I used it on the inside of my Scan Pan skillet but there was no carbonized food to remove. When using the product, it starts out white, but changes to brown as it removes the carbon.
It stayed white after a ten minute treatment of my skillet.
I told Scan Pan this and they approved the replacement.
Not worthy
They say they have warranty, but nothing like this . They never exchange or take there pans back .
The non stick vanishes after a few uses. Don’t trust what they say .
Con-Game ScanPan Warranty
I had coating issues with first skillet. I returned it and they replaced it.
Years later I bought another skillet and had coating issues with it.............This time they were under different management in USA and they told me to drop dead in so many words. At this point I get a message to enter at least 100 words. Have I made it yet since I don't see a counter. had coating issues with first skillet.

Exact same thing happened to my entire set. I tried every trick on their website and that I could find on the internet to clean them. I will never buy another.
Exactly the same thing happened to my scanpan... won’t buy again!
